Kyrie Irving claimed he was one of Nike’s most lucrative partners before they severed ties with him last December.
On Sunday, actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. wondered which NBA star has the highest-selling signature sneaks behind Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. Irving responded by touting his own credentials.
“My signature line made the previous brand I was with over 2.6 Billion in Revenue the past seven years,” Irving wrote. “I can safely say, I am one of them ones out here in the competitive shoe market, dominating. And not to be arrogant, Go Ask around. The kids that grew up wearing/buying my shoes know, respectfully I am that guy because of the Support WORLDWIDE.”

Nike ended its relationship with Irving during the 2022-23 season after he posted the link to a movie and book containing antisemitic material. He teased an imminent new arrangement with an unspecified company in May.
“I’m really excited,” Irving said. “I will be signing my new shoe deal very, very soon. I’m ’bout to blow this stuff out the water.”
Although he’s no longer with Nike, Irving secured another lucrative payday when signing a three-year, $126 million contract to stay with the Dallas Mavericks. The 31-year-old averaged 27.1 points, 5.5 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game last season.
