Robert Lachky, Anheuser-Busch’s former chief creative officer who left in 2009, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: “It took us 20 years to take Bud Light beer to the No. 1 beer in the country, and it took them one week to dismantle it.”

Lachky’s iconic beer ads included the “I Love You, Man” commercials, the talking frogs, the “Whassup?!” promo and the famed Clydesdales playing football, according to the New York Post.

He said Anheuser-Busch has suffered from “a complete lack of corporate oversight, and it’s been that way since (InBev) took the company over.”

Lachky, who now runs his own consulting firm RCL Group in St. Louis, told The Post on Wednesday: “It’s pretty obvious InBev continues to fan the flames on their own with their defensive comments.”
