Lady Gaga Just Went Full “Black Swan” At the Oscars

Black Swan has provided us all with ballerina-inspired beauty trends since it premiered in 2010, so it’s no surprise we see its dark influence everywhere — especially on the red carpet on film’s biggest night. Whether it was intentional or not, Lady Gaga is rocking a makeup look to the 2023 Oscars that brings us right back to ballet class.

The singer, who was nominated for an Academy Award this year for her song “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, took to the carpet with long faux lashes from Lashify and smoky eyeliner smudged out along both her lash lines into a wing. Makeup artist Sarah Tanno created the look using products from Haus Labs (obviously.)

Gaga’s deep, dark eye look and brushed-up brows are enough inspiration already, but the rest of the beauty look is equally as dramatic. Her orange-red lipstick pops perfectly against her ink-black smoky eyes, and her draped blush gives the ensemble an 80s vibe with a peachy-pink hue shading her apples, cheekbones, and temples. Maybe it’s an ode to the original Top Gun circa 1986? We can’t know for sure, but we’re certainly into it.
