When Lake Elsinore native Kodi Lee debuted on America’s Got Talent” in 2019, the singer-pianist, who is blind and autistic, was an overnight sensation, dazzling judges and viewers alike with his musical talent.
When Lee won the 14th season of NBC’s reality TV talent competition, and the $1 million prize that came with that, his journey eventually led to Las Vegas where today Lee headlines the “America’s Got Talent Presents Super Stars Live” show at the Luxor Hotel & Casino.
And that might have been that had not the producers of the popular franchise not decided to launch a new spinoff of the series, “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars.” Because if you’re bringing back the all-stars – past winners, runners-up and fan favorites – Kodi Lee definitely wants to be there.
“It was so awesome,” Lee says of returning to the show for the all-star series. “Oh my gosh, I had a lot of fun. I do love it.”
Lee, who advanced after performing on the Feb. 6 episode of the show, returns to sing in the finals on Monday, Feb. 20. The results – and the chance for Lee to win again and take home $500,000 more – will be broadcast on Feb. 27.
We caught up with Lee and his mother Tina Lee by phone in Las Vegas on Friday, Feb. 17, and will be back after his performance on the finale on Monday, Feb. 20 with more on his life and how he spent some of his prize money from his winning season and more.
