The other team is continuing its rebuilding process.
They’ll meet Tuesday at Amway Center at 7 p.m.
So which team is the Magic and which team is the touted Los Angeles Lakers?
The rebuilding Magic are the club on a hot streak.
With each team 13th in its conference, Orlando (13-21) can pass the Lakers (13-20) with a victory in their only visit to Central Florida this regular season.
Over their last 10 games, the Magic have averaged 116.3 points, 46.9 rebounds, 23.5 assists, 7.5 steals and 4.4 blocks while shooting 46.6% from the field, with big man Franz Wagner shooting 46.8% and averaging 20.7 points.
The Magic are 9-9 at home and will play at Detroit on Wednesday night before returning for games vs. Washington (Friday), Oklahoma City (Jan. 4) and Memphis (Jan. 5).
The Lakers are coming off a 124-115 defeat at Dallas during which Mavericks star Luka Doncic scored 32 points and the Mavs tallied 51 points in the third quarter, the highest-scoring quarter on Christmas in NBA history and a league-best this season.
LeBron James scored 38 points, one shy of his season high, and the Lakers led by 12 early in the third before the Mavericks took over.
Now L.A. will be looking for remedies against the Magic.
