Swider, 24, is coming off a rookie season in which he averaged 1.3 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest through seven games for the Lakers. Before joining Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent last year, he played three collegiate seasons for Villanova and transferred to Syracuse for his senior campaign.
Swider spent most of his rookie year in the G League, averaging 17.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 27 regular-season contests.
Swider’s replacement, Fudge, put up modest numbers (4.6 points and 3.9 rebounds) over two collegiate seasons with LSU and Florida. But, it seems as though the Lakers see better upside for the athletic 20-year-old forward.
