The Lakers won the latest battle of Los Angeles, beating the Clippers 104-103 in the teams’ final summer league game Sunday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
With second-year guard Max Christie and first-round pick Jalen Hood-Schifino not available, the Lakers’ trio of two-way players and L.J. Figueroa led the way.
Two-way guard D’Moi Hodge had 23 points (7-of-11 shooting on 3-pointers), five steals and five rebounds, while Figueroa finished with 23 points (10-of-13 shooting) and seven rebounds off the bench.
Two-way wing Cole Swider finished with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
He made the game-winning free throw with 0.4 seconds remaining after getting fouled on an inbounds play.
Two-way center Colin Castleton had a 13-point, 14-rebound double-double to go with six assists. Bryce Hamilton added 14 points and six assists off the bench.
Forward Kobe Brown, the Clippers’ first-round pick, was ruled out in second half because of a left ankle injury. He finished with six points and two assists in six minutes.
Jordan Miller, the guard the Clippers drafted in the second round, had five points and five rebounds in 26 minutes.
The Clippers were led by Xavier Moon, who had a 21-point, 10-assist double-double to go with two steals. Moon was a game-high plus-23.
The Lakers and Clippers both finished 3-2 in Las Vegas Summer League.
The Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers will match up Monday in the Las Vegas Summer League Championship game (6 p.m. on ESPN).
