Entering Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers sit one loss away from elimination by the Denver Nuggets.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, assuming the Lakers lose the series as expected, the team could look to upgrade the guard position next to Austin Reaves, who will hopefully be retained this offseason.

Irving is set to enter unrestricted free agency this summer.
Following his midseason trade from the Brooklyn Nets to Dallas Mavericks, Irving had All-Star caliber production, averaging 27.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field and 39.2 percent from long distance.
The Lakers were among the few teams that tried to acquire Irving at the trade deadline with LeBron James on board, but the Mavericks won the bidding.
The Lakers’ current point guard D’Angelo Russell has struggled mightly in the Western Conference Series, increasing the likelihood of a change this offseason.
