The two new 2024 models are on sale in Canada now, with the Outbound starting at $99,400; and the V8 beginning at $141,550.
The Defender 130 Outbound uses a 3.0L inline-six engine with a mild-hybrid system that makes 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. It’s all about getting out to the great outdoors, and to that end, it can’t be ordered with a third row of seats, dedicating that area instead to cargo space so its five occupants have a place to put their camping gear. It offers 1,329 litres in its cargo compartment; and up to 2,516 litres when the rear seats are folded, and there are small-item storage bins, tie-downs, and a cargo net. It can tow a maximum of 3,000 lbs.

The seats can be upholstered in full leather, but durable, animal-free faux-leather Resist fabric is also available. The floor mat can be folded down over the bumper to protect it when loading cargo, and the air suspension can be lowered so you don’t have to lift that stuff as high.
On the exterior, the Outbound features a matte finish on the bumpers and grille insert, charcoal side vents, and 20-inch gloss-black wheels with all-terrain tires, with matte-finish 22-inch wheels available. Options include protective body film and a “Country Pack” that adds an “expedition” roof rack, raised air intake, side-mounted carrier box, and mud flaps.

Those in the Outbound may be riding along and figuring out what they’re going to cook over the campfire, but the Defender 130 V8’s passengers – up to eight of them – should just hang on. This model exclusively uses a supercharged 5.0L V8 that makes 493 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque, and can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
The new V8 comes only in grey or black, with 22-inch grey wheels, sliding panoramic roof, premium LED headlights, darkened taillights, and, exclusive to the engine, quad exhaust. Interior features include heated and cooled front- and second-row seats; heated third-row seats; 11.4-inch touchscreen; premium stereo; and four-zone climate control.
The lineup now includes the Defender 90, 110, and 130, with four engine choices across all, and prices ranging from $72,500 to $141,550.
