SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Lanes on the Golden Gate Bridge are blocked due to an overturned big rig truck Saturday evening, California Highway Patrol tweeted. Two northbound and two southbound lanes are blocked, causing traffic delays.
The big rig driver, who was not identified, was removed from the vehicle, CHP Officer Darrel Horner told KRON4. As of 6:55 p.m., no injuries have been reported.
Travelers are asked to avoid the Golden Gate Bridge and use an alternate route. “High-profile vehicles should avoid the area due to high winds,” CHP said on Twitter.
According to a 511 traffic alert tweeted at 5:58 p.m., all lanes were blocked in both directions. CHP first tweeted about the incident at 6:29 p.m.
