Laura Whitmore to front docuseries on issues facing women, such as rough sex and incel culture

Laura Whitmore is set to front a new docuseries highlighting taboo subjects such as rough sex, violent pornography, and incel culture.

ITV has confirmed that a three-part series launching in July, which will see the former Love Island presenter exploring serious issues facing women today.

An ITVX spokesperson said: “In this brand-new series, viewers will see a new side of Laura as she travels within the UK and further afield to delve into subjects that fascinate her and have an impact on our lives.”

The docuseries will mark Laura’s return to investigative journalism after she studied the subject at Dublin City University before kicking starting her presenting career.

In particular, one investigation in the docuseries will focus on “women-hating incels”.

he misogynistic online hate group incels are a group of men who gather on the internet to discuss their hatred toward women, which in recent years has been linked to an alarming spate of violent crime in real life.

Speaking of the subject matters set to be covered in Laura’s docuseries, a television insider told The Sun: “Rough sex is a subject that taps into the grey areas that come with certain behaviours and how we navigate them.

“We’re a society which is increasingly exposed to violence via the internet, and that can lead to problems when that manifests itself in real life.

“As in so many similar situations, that often means women bear the brunt of those problems, which is what Laura will be looking at in the doc.”

A trailer for the series is yet to be revealed.

The documentaries, fronted by Laura Whitmore, will air on ITVX in July. An exact air date is yet to be confirmed.
