‘I’ve never been more uncomfortable with a photo’

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos’ new Vogue photo spread is getting people talking, but the couple will probably want to stop scrolling through the comments section while enjoying their morning coffees.

The magazine teased their appearance in its December issue with a series of Western-themed photos taken by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz. In pics shared to Instagram, Sanchez, 53, drapes her arms over the Amazon founder, 59, as the two gaze into the camera.

But instead of evoking old-timey Hollywood glamour, the duo were relentlessly mocked for flaunting their extravagant lifestyle.
“I would like to unsee this picture,” one critic swiped, with another jabbing, “I’ve never been more uncomfortable with a photo.”

“Unless this article is about Bezos stealing Kenny Chesney’s stylist I don’t want it,” another joked.
Others criticized the magazine for promoting a billionaire who has “made his obscene wealth with poverty wages, union busting and tax avoidance.”
“I think we should refrain from superhero-ifying and glamorizing billionaires who build their wealth by exploiting and overworking their notoriously underpaid employees. No amount of PR can make either of these people likable,” one person wrote.
“I don’t give a flying f*** about these billionaires,” someone else bluntly wrote, with several others questioning if Bezos’ biceps were Photoshopped.
“How much did he pay y’all to engorge his bicep(?),” one person asked.

In addition to Sanchez’s pic with her husband-to-be, the former newscaster also posed for several sultry solo shots, in which she called her work with Bezos’ Earth Fund as “the most important work I’ve ever done, ever.”

But followers were equally unimpressed with Sanchez’s ambitious agenda — which also includes a trip to space — coupled with the glamorous pics.
“It’s weird to hear about caring for climate change and a joy ride to space in the same sentence,” one critic lashed out.
“I thought that was Steven Tyler,” another wrote dismissively.
“Can we point out the grave disconnect between leisurely space travel and the ‘Bezos Earth Fund’?” someone else asked.
In the accompanying caption, Bezos clearly didn’t anticipate the negative response, using his words to praise Sanchez, saying she “has amazing intuition.”
“She sees things that other people don’t see. She’s really very sensitive to other people and what they’re thinking,” he said.

In the magazine profile, Bezos continues to show how out-of-touch he is by telling the outlet “she keeps in touch with people.”
“I’ve never seen her put makeup on without calling somebody. Usually her sister,” Bezos says.
Sanchez and Bezos’ celebrity pals praised the pics, but momager Kris Jenner gave her stamp of approval on the couple with a compliment that proves that she too lives in a state of cluelessness.
“She’ll make sure everyone is up to speed about what’s happening in the world,” Jenner says, noting Sanchez recently sent an article about the Maui wildfires.
Bezos, who began dating Sanchez in 2018 following their respective divorces, popped the question in May.
Now she’s deciding what to wear, narrowing her dress options between Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino — concluding her masterclass in what it’s like living removed from a reality in which most people are struggling just to pay their mortgage.
“We’re still thinking about the wedding (and) what it’s going to be,” she tells the outlet. “Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!”
