Laurence Fox has tested positive for Covid-19, days after donning a T-shirt against the vaccine.
The Lewis actor, 43, has been vocal about his opposition to the coronavirus vaccine on social media, as well as the mask mandate and lockdown rules.
Taking to Twitter, he shared a photo of his positive lateral flow test, confirming that he has fallen ill.
Alongside the snap, he penned: ‘In other news, felt shivery and crap yesterday. Turns out I have been visited by Lord Covid at last and have the Omnicold (if the LFT is to be believed!)
‘On the #Ivermectin, saline nasal rinse, quercetin, paracetamol and ibruprofen.’
Discussing his symptoms, he stated that it was similar to ‘man flu at the moment’.
Ivectermin is a livestock de-worming medicine that has not been proven to be effective against coronavirus symptoms.
Experts have warned that it should not be taken as a method of treatment or protection, and that it can cause harm.
The US Food and Drug Administration shared their advice on their official website, urging the public not to use it.
‘FDA has not approved Ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans […] Ivermectin is not an anti-viral (a drug for treating viruses),’ a warning read.
It also states that taking large doses of Ivermectin ‘is dangerous and can cause serious harm’.
Merck, the manufacturer of the drug, added that there is no scientific basis for the drug to be used as a treatment.
Fox, who had an unsuccessful bid to become London Mayor last year, later shared a video where he discussed his symptoms in depth.
‘I feel a bit man-fluey but that’s only to be expected because that’s only to be expected because men whinge more,’ he told viewers, before adding: ‘But I’m going to fight this.’
Earlier this week, the star – who shares two children with ex-wife Billie Piper – posted a photo as he flashed a peace sign while unveiling his new T-shirt, which read: ‘No vaccine needed. I have an immune system.’
‘I really like my new t shirt,’ he wrote beside the photo, which was uploaded on Wednesday.
