Congress MLA Priyank Kharge hit out at the Karnataka government over the killing of a BJP youth leader in Dakshina Kannada district. Hitting out at the BJP-led state government, the Congress said, “BJP government is failing to protect its own flock, how will they protect others?”

Praveen Nettaru, a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha leader, was hacked to death by bike-borne assailants on Tuesday. The slain BJP youth leader had recently made a post in support of Kanhaiyalal, the tailor beheaded in Rajasthan’s Udaipur last month.

Speaking to India Today about the murder of BJP youth leader, Priyank Kharge said, “It is another murder of youth. It reflects the deteriorating state of law and order situation in Karnataka.”

The Congress leader alleged,” The government is taking bribes for police posting, that is why these policemen are not serious (about preventing crimes). Commission is their priority, law and order is last priority.”

The former Karnataka minister said, “We are not into business of politicising deaths. This is not the time to see how to gain ground politically. We are standing with the family (of Praveen Nettaru).”
