Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent coming to Citytv in 2024

Citytv announced Monday that a new, one-hour crime drama called Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is slated to air in the spring of 2024.

An adaptation of the infamous Law & Order brand, the show will be produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc. in association with Citytv.

Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent will consist of 10 one-hour episodes, with production of the show taking place this fall in Toronto.

Based on the classic series of the same name, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent will showcase original stories written, produced by, and starring Canadians.

The show will follow detectives who investigate high-profile crime and corruption in metro Toronto, presented as a “psychological thriller wrapped in a criminal investigation.”

Erin Haskett, president and executive producer of Lark Productions, says the project has been in the works since early last year.

“The timeless appeal of the cases explored in the globally successful Law & Order franchise continues to draw in Citytv audiences week after week,” said Hayden Mindell, senior vice president of television at Rogers Sports & Media, in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to be in partnership with Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc., to bring Canadian stories to this iconic format.”

Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc. are both Canadian television production companies, with Lark Productions based out of Vancouver and Cameron Pictures Inc. based out of Toronto.

Lark Productions has helped create shows such as Farming for Love, Motive, Real Housewives of Toronto and Real Housewives of Vancouver.

Cameron Pictures Inc. has multiple award-winning series such as Mary Kills PeopleLittle Dog and Pretty Hard Cases.
