We’ve got some major updates on the reimagining of Bloober Team’s major incursion in the gaming industry: Layers of Fear. This news is huge as it includes the announcement of a new demo that will be available for Steam players for a limited time. Additionally, this new set of updates comes with the long-awaited system requirements for the game. Some of the system requirements listed might be surprising for some players.
Let’s start with the Layers of Fear demo, which is going to be available on May 15. Bloober Team stated that the demo would give players a glimpse of the upcoming game’s gameplay. The demo will be available for a limited time as it’s expected to end by May 22 at 3:00 PM PT. You can watch a trailer that promotes the upcoming demo below:
The unsettling world of Layers of Fear doesn’t end with just the demo, as Bloober Team has also added a new teaser trailer that showcases the game’s cinematic intro. In this video, players join the Writer on a gripping journey into the foreboding Lighthouse as they see the horrors lurking within its walls.
As mentioned before, Bloober Team has revealed the system requirements for Layers of Fear’s PC version. This iteration of the psychedelic horror journey might surprise some players when it comes to the spec requirements as they aren’t as demanding as other PC games released in recent times, especially when it comes to 1080p/60FPS with Ray Tracing enabled.

Originally titled Layers of Fears, this new project by Bloober Team is an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Layers of Fear and its sequel. This retelling of the stories of various different artists will include a new perspective in the form of The Writer as she will experience a never-before-seen tale that will tie the series together as she desperately struggles with the cost of her ambition, all while trying to finish the final chapter of her novel, a lifetime masterpiece.
Layers of Fear will release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S in June 2023.
