After previously taking the high road, LeBron James now isn’t holding back.
On social media, anyway.
James took to both Twitter and Instagram to throw what appears to be shade at Dillon Brooks on Saturday after the Lakers routed the Grizzlies Friday night to win their first-round series.
“Unlike you little I’m a grown ass man,” James Tweeted, using Jay-Z’s lyrics to his hit “Trouble” in the post. “Big shoes to fill, grown ass pants. Prolly hustled with your pops, go ask your parents. Its apparent you’re staring at a legend. Who, put a few little in the they place before Trying to eat without saying they grace before! [sic]”
James replaced the expletives in the lyrics with emojis.
Brooks, who has emerged as one the NBA’s biggest heels with his brash trash-talk and perceived dirty incidents on the court, had previously called out James early in the series.
Following the Grizzlies’ Game 2 win, Brooks said: “I don’t care. He’s old. He wanted to say something when I got my fourth foul. He should’ve been saying that earlier on. I poke bears. I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40, so I pride myself on what I do on defense and taking on any challenge that’s on the board.”
Brooks was subsequently ejected from Game 3 after hitting James in the groin.
Ironically, the Lakers answered Brooks’ 40-point challenge beating the Grizzlies by 40 points in Game 6 to eliminate Memphis.
But throughout the series, James did not really acknowledge Brooks’ comments or actions, saying he was “not here for the bullsh–t,” when asked about it.

That changed following the series.
On Instagram, James seemingly had fun with both Brooks’ “I poke bears” comment and the fact that it was the Grizzlies he eliminated.
“If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR,” James captioned a post of him celebrating the series.
Despite his brashness early in the series, Brooks declined to speak with the media following the last three games of the series.
