Jerry West is a Hall of Fame player, all-time great executive and immortalized as the NBA logo.
You don’t put together that kind of resume by being timid. West was supremely confident in his abilities on the court and as a talent evaluator, and with good reason.
West discussed the type of competitiveness he brought to the game as a player during an appearance on NBA CONvos this weekend.
“I was not afraid. And today…the word ‘dog’ comes up a lot. ‘That guy’s a dog.’ Well, I was a wolf. I used to eat dogs,” West said.

LeBron James is a big Jerry West fan, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ current superstar vehemently supported what another one of the franchise’s greatest players had to say on stage.

Throughout his illustrious playing career, West won the NBA Finals in 1972 after earning Finals MVP in a losing effort in 1969.
He earned 14 trips to the All-Star Game, 10 appearances on All-NBA First Team and four All-Defensive Team selections.
