The NBA has opened an investigation into Eric Lewis after a suspicious Twitter account was theorized to be a burner for the veteran referee.
On Thursday, a Twitter user pointed out some odd activity from an account named “Blair Cuttliff.” Almost every single tweet from this account is a reply defending Lewis from critical comments.
NBA ref Eric Lewis has been outed as having a burner account (@CuttliffBlair). Lmaooo this is a momentous day. The account will surely be deleted soon so for the archives, the entirety of the account’s replies. All involving… yep, Eric Lewis. ????

20-year NBA veteran LeBron James, who’s been in the league just slightly longer than Lewis, can’t believe this wacky story.
“This Eric Lewis [sh-t] true???” the Los Angeles superstar asked in a relatable tweet.
This Eric Lewis ???? true??? ????

This “Cuttliff” account was made in 2015 and had zero followers before this public outing. It follows just six other accounts, one of which is the George Mason women’s basketball team. Lewis’s wife, Vanessa Blair-Lewis, is the team’s head coach.
The account was created in 2015. Been on a war mission toward the end of this season and through the postseason. It has zero (0) followers and hilariously only follows these 5 accounts. ???????????? his wife is the head coach for George Mason WBB.
Log out, bro. Lmao @CuttliffBlair pic.twitter.com/zuROvuVX4P

Philadelphia 76ers former president of basketball operations and general manager Bryan Colangelo was forced into resignation when it was found that he released sensitive information and criticized players with a series of burner accounts in 2018.
It’s unclear what kind of punishment Lewis could face if this is in fact his burner account.
