Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James made his return on Sunday when the team hosted the Chicago Bulls at Crypto Arena.

James, who hadn’t played since February 26, had 19 points and eight rebounds off the bench in his first game back.

After the game, James gave details about his foot injury, saying he elected not to have season-ending foot surgery despite two doctors telling him he should.

“LeBron James said he tore a tendon in his right foot — an injury that typically takes longer than four weeks to recover from,” The Athletic’s Jovan Buha tweeted. “He said that doctors told him he healed from the injury faster than they’ve ever seen.

“LeBron said two doctors recommended season-ending surgery, but then he went to see the “LeBron James of feet” and James determined he’d be able to return.”

James is back as the Lakers push for a playoff spot, that’s what matters most.

Currently, LA is 37-38 overall and in ninth place in the Western Conference with seven regular season games remaining.
