On Monday, LeBron James shared a Jay-Z quote to his Instagram, just a few days after he said he could retire from the NBA.
“I’m supposed to be #1 on everybody’s list. We’ll see what happens when I no longer exist,” the quote read.

That sounds like someone who is seriously mulling retirement, even though a lot of fans and analysts don’t expect him to go through with it.
James floated the possibility while he was speaking to the media after the Los Angeles Lakers got swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. James finished Game 4 with 40 points but was unable to extend the series for his team.
He currently has two years left on his contract after he signed his latest deal with the Lakers. He finished this past season averaging 29 points and eight rebounds per game while also shooting 50% from the floor.
Time will tell what decision he comes to.
