Lena Headey Gets Sued For Thor: Love and Thunder Deleted Cameo

Game of Thrones star Lena Headey is reportedly being sued by an agency who claim they are owed commission for roles include a cut cameo from Thor 4.

With Thor: Love and Thunder arriving in cinemas next week, it seems that the shortest MCU movie for a long while could have been longer had some cameo appearances not been cut. With Christian Bale commenting that he was originally supposed to have scenes with previous MCU stars Peter Dinklage and Thor: Ragnarok’s Jeff Goldblum, it has been reported that Game of Thrones star Lena Headey was also set to appear in the movie. However, as well as her scene being cut from the movie, the actress is also being sued for $1.5 million for that and other roles that is it claimed she has not paid commission to her former U.K. agency for.

According to Variety, Headey’s former agency Troika, who now go by the name of YMU, claim that the star owes them $500,000 for her Marvel role, which would equate to a 7% cut from her fee. It has been confirmed that her filmed scene will not be in the final cut of the new Marvel movie, but the list of movies that the company are claiming for doesn’t end there. The other names projects include fees of $300,000 for her lead role in 9 Bullets and $650,000 for her appearance in Rita for Showtime. Much like her Thor role, Rita never made it fruition, with the show not being picked up after the pilot.

Headey has denied the claims, noting that she never signed a contract with the agency, and was not exclusively being repped by Troika. She also added that her Thor role came about by a personal conversation with director Taika Waititi, and the company had no involvement in her role in 9 Bullets. The actress also refutes the amount being claimed for Rita, as she says she was only paid $325,000 for the pilot episode of the series, and with no further episodes planned, commission on that was paid.

Thor: Love and Thunder Could Still Have Surprise Cameos

Thor: Love and Thunder’s star Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi have both denied that Tom Hiddleston will make an appearance in the movie as Thor’s brother Loki, but there have also been rumors that Idris Elba will reprise his role as Heimdall. With so many possible character returns seeming to have been cut or never a thing in the first place, will there be some surprise cameos to come in Thor: Love and Thunder?

There has been speculation that certain scenes of the Thor: Love and Thunder trailers have been doctored to remove characters, which is nothing new and has been something Marvel Studios have done frequently to try and keep some reveals until their movies hit theaters. For that reason, there will always be rumors about who may or may not appear in the film until the general public are able to see for it for themselves when Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in cinemas on July 8.
