Manchester isn’t short of hotels, particularly in the middle market, but the Leonardo is perfect for a weekend stay, business trip or family visit.
Read on to find out more about what the hotel is like, what there is to do nearby and how good the food is.
Where is Leonardo Hotel Manchester?
The modern tower-block hotel sits about ten minutes’ walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station.
It’s a clean, comfy and friendly place that’s a short walk or taxi ride from the city centre.
What is Leonardo Hotel Manchester like?
With higgledy- piggledy balconies jutting out at different angles, it looks a bit like a Jenga block – although that may not be a great marketing idea for a building.
It’s close to the shops, restaurants and nightlife – handy for the Etihad stadium, too.
What is there to do at Leonardo Hotel Manchester?
The Leonardo has a wellness suite for yoga and meditation – a nice idea given how hectic and exhausting Manchester is.
You’re in the thick of the action though, with major attractions nearby like the Manchester Art Gallery and Manchester Museum (reopening in February), as well as nightlife like Chinawhite and the swish restaurants of Spinningfields.
What is there to eat and drink at Leonardo Hotel Manchester?
There’s a cosy bar with a good array of cocktails and the ground-floor restaurant, Leo’s, does tasty, good-value burgers, grills, pasta and pizza.
There’s a good wine list, too.
But if you don’t want to eat in, Manchester has plenty of great restaurants.
We tried the Hard Rock Cafe (0161 831 6700) at The Printworks.
It’s a relaxed diner with lovely staff and well-cooked, no-frills burgers and steaks, plus great rock memorabilia.
What are the rooms like at Leonardo Hotel Manchester?
They are very big, with huge, comfy beds, free wifi, smart TVs and fridges, and great views across the city.
Very quiet, too, given that this part of Manchester, near Ancoats, is essentially a building site thanks to all the regeneration work going on.
How much is Leonardo Hotel Manchester?
One night’s room-only at Leonardo Hotel costs from £79 a night.
