Amy Shark has made a last-ditch plea to Premier Mark McGowan to open the WA borders in time for her Perth show, which she faces cancelling for a third time.
The Australian singer is due to play at RAC Arena on February 26 as part of her rescheduled Australian tour, which was initially due to take place last winter.
But it appears she will once again have to reschedule after the Premier scrapped his plans to reopen WA on February 5.
“Dear Mark McGowan, I really really want to come and see Perth again,” she wrote to her social media followers.
“I miss the people and I really want to play my show on Feb 26.
“I’ll do anything before the show I’ll wash your car, mow your lawn, cook you dinner, clean out your gutters, just please let us back in. Amy.”
Even a quarantine arrangement would spoil Shark’s tour, with her due to play a show at Melbourne’s Rod Laver arena just six days after her Perth gig.
Fans have piled on the Premier after her plea, calling on him to “help a sister out”.
“It’s here now anyway, let Amy in,” begged one fan.
“Musicians and music fans have missed out on so much when sport still gets to go ahead. We had the grand final here, the fireworks went ahead. Maybe we let musicians in for shows that have been postponed so many times.”
Shark was initially due to perform in Perth in July but moved it to September due to WA’s closed border. A second border closure resulted in the show being pushed back to February 2022.
“It’s unfair and it hurts, I know, but when I finally get to your city I promise it will be worth it, “she wrote to fans last year.
