Lewis Capaldi early bird tickets ‘gone in seconds’ ahead of massive tour

The pre-sale for Lewis Capaldi’s European tour ‘sold out in seconds’ after being released to the public.

Leaving fans anxious for Friday’s general sale, most of the star’s early bird tickets were sold shortly after they went on sale at 9am on Wednesday.

Capaldi’s UK and Europe tour was announced on October 18, and will hit the road for 31 gigs, with Aberdeen’s P&J Live on January 23 and Glasgow’s Hydro the following night his only Scottish dates.

The chart-topping musician shared a screenshot of the bookings page on Wednesday morning, showing the sold-out pre-sale concert dates.

In the tweet, he said: “GLASGOW am so so buzzing! Pre-sale sold out in an actual second how mad is that.”

He will follow the tour with a new album, Broken By Desire to be Heavenly Sent, on May 19, 2023.

Capaldi has said fans of his hugely successful debut Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent could expect more of his signature musical style.

He told STV’s What’s On Scotland: “I don’t want to create a new sound for myself, or reinvent myself. The songs I want to write are emotional songs, about love or loss.

“I felt like I was sounding better because I was just chilled out in my own gaff.

“Also, a lot of this record was made with most of the same people who I worked with on the first one: TMS, Phil Plested, Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway. At least one of them’s on almost every song.”

His latest hit single ‘Forget Me’ was his third UK number one, while he sold out two shows at London’s O2 Arena last month.

Tickets to his tour go on general sale October 28 at 9am on Ticketmaster.
