“Everything about the new LX is new — from the foundation to the finish — and it is, without a doubt, the most advanced and most capable full-size luxury SUV we’ve ever offered,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus in Canada.
After a teaser back in October, the automaker offered a glimpse at its completely revamped LX model, available in premium, luxury, F-Sport, and VIP executive grades.
All 2022 Lexus LX models are built around a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine, instead of the previous generation’s V8. Delivering more torque while using less fuel, the engine generates 409 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb-ft of torque across a wider RPM range. It also has a fuel consumption of 14.2, 10.8, and 12.7 L/100 km (city, highway, and combined, respectively).

What’s more, the engine is paired with a direct shift 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, allowing for smooth starts, prompt acceleration, and of course, quick shifting between gears.

Thanks to a new body-on frame design that’s built off Toyota’s GA-F platform, engineers could lower the vehicle’s centre of gravity and reduce its weight. Its high-torque twin-turbo engine, new brake system, and electric power steering gives it enhanced control and some off-roading chops, too.
From its 22-inch wheels to its all-new spindle grille, as well as the VIP executive’s third-row seat option, the 2022 Lexus LX 600 Luxury ($127,200) kicks things up a notch.

But perhaps the coolest new upgrades come with the new F-Sport 1 package, which offers several enhanced drive systems, including its Multi-Terrain Select system, Crawl Control, and a Multi-Terrain Monitor. Starting at $119,950, this grade is a step above the premium option. Offering aluminum sport pedals, aluminum interior trim and heated and ventilated second row seats, it also has a 25-speaker Mark Levinson premium audio system.
For those that want to ride in style, 2022 Lexus LX 600 VIP Executive — which starts at $151,200 — has no third-row seat, allowing second-row passengers to recline their seats during long rides and road trips. It also has a rear-seat massage system, a four-zone automatic climate control feature with a VIP climate control system and climate screen, a rear 7” screen, and much more.
