The interior of the LC500h is identical to the earlier model, except for the all-new infotainment system.
Lexus India has introduced the revamped LC500h in the country. The prices for the highly anticipated sports coupe start at Rs 2.39 crore (ex-showroom). Interestingly, the updated LC500h comes with largely the same design and powertrain as the previous model.
The new LC500h is being touted as a performance car and boasts impeccable refinement that indicates the brand’s unwavering commitment to excellence. The revamped LC500h comes with great build quality and exquisite craftsmanship.
The Lexus LC500h exterior continues to feature a contemporary two-door coupe design. Design elements like Lexus’ spindle grille with triangular LED headlamps up front, and slim LED taillights with dual exhausts at the rear give the car a sporty look. The car also boasts a new design for 21-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of the LC500h also looks identical to the earlier model, except for the all-new infotainment system. The biggest update on the 2023 LC500h is the modern 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment, which replaces the older 10.3-inch unit. The older screen was deep-set and integrated into the dashboard. In the new model, the system is housed independently and has been moved towards the driver to allow for easier access. The previous screen was also not ergonomic as it was operated through a separate touchpad on the centre console.
The new infotainment system has aided Lexus in rearranging some of the buttons on the centre console for a cleaner look and better usability.
Reportedly, LC500h’s new infotainment system is quite reminiscent of the unit seen on the company’s RX SUV variant.
The LC500h is powered by a 3.5-litre, V6 petrol engine that is boosted by an electric motor and a self-charging lithium-ion battery. The naturally aspirated engine generates 300hp and 348Nm, while the electric motor churns out 180hp and 330Nm. This beastly powertrain ensures that the new LC500h is able to sprint from 0 to 100kph in just 4.7 seconds.
Lexus has cultivated a loyal base in India due to its imposing road presence and iconic status. Last month, the carmaker launched the new RX SUV. Lexus will also be the LM luxury MPV later this year.
