During WrestleMania 39 on Saturday (April 1), Lil Uzi Vert stopped by to deliver a performance and hint at a future appearance in the ring.
The rapper offered up a nice introduction for wrestling duo Joshua Samuel Fatu and Jonathan Solofa Fatu, otherwise known as The Usos, with a performance of their hit track “Just Wanna Rock.” The appearance marks Uzi’s WWE debut, but they weren’t the only musician to make an impact. Snoop Dogg hosted the event alongside the Miz, while the Spanish announcement table commentary was provided by Bad Bunny.
The performance of “Just Wanna Rock” comes not long after Uzi brought the track to The Tonight Show, backed by dancers and colorful stage design.
“I can’t believe I’m here, I can’t believe I saw so many people that I always wanted to see my whole life,” said Uzi in an interview backstage. “I wanted to get in the ring, I was ready to get in the ring. But you’ll see me in April, Philadelphia 2024, so I don’t wanna give up all the surprises. But you’ll see me there.”
WrestleMania 39 was hosted in Inglewood, California, but next year it’ll be hosted in Philadelphia, which is Uzi’s hometown. It would appear as though Uzi will make their debut in the ring at WrestleMania 40, and they were even asked who they would want to fight against. “Dominik [Mysterio],” Uzi replied.
