Lil Wayne has announced dates for his eagerly anticipated Welcome to Tha Carter Tour.
The 28-city trek, which kicks off April 4 in Minneapolis, includes three stops in California.
Lil Wayne performs May 12 at The Masonic in San Francisco as well as May 10 at SOMA in San Diego and May 13 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at Lilwayneofficial.com.
Lil Wayne ranks among the top-selling acts in the world, having reportedly sold more than 100 million records during his career. He’s also won five Grammys, 26 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, seven MTV Awards, four Soul Train Awards and eight BMI Awards.
He’s best known musically for his “Tha Carter” album series, which includes 2008’s wonderful multiplatinum chart-topper “Tha Carter III.”
The setlist for this remains a mystery thus far. Fans have been waiting for the hip-hop icon to release his sixth installment in “Tha Carter” series since he announced last year that one was on the way.
