Lindsay Lohan is officially engaged! Plus all the other celebrity engagements proving love is in the air

Nothing warms our heart more than a few celebrity engagements. Not because being married is the biggest accolade an adult can have, but because we could all do with some good news now and again. Plus, comparing notes on celebs’ extortionate engagement rings is basically a certified hobby.

So let’s celebrate the ones that made the decision to put a ring on it; the ones that said yes; and the ones that still believe in fairy tale endings. Here’s all the celebrity engagements we can’t stop obsessing over: 

On Sunday 28th November, Lindsay Lohan announced that she’s engaged to Bader Shammas, her boyfriend of two years. “My love. My life. My family. My future. #love,” she captioned the carousel on Instagram showing the happy couple smiling and embracing.

Earlier in November, Kristen Stewart became engaged to Dylan Meyer after two years of dating. She revealed on the The Howard Stern Show that Dylan proposed to her, saying, “We’re marrying, we’re totally gonna do it.

“I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. We’re marrying, it’s happening.”

Then in October, there was of course Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker who shared the exciting news of their engagement. And OFC, the proposal looked incredibly romantic. Kourtney took to Instagram to post a snap of the pair embracing within a dramatic display of roses – right next to the ocean. She captioned the post, “Forever,” and Travis commented “FOREVER ♾.”

A source told E! News, “It happened during the sunset at Rosewood Miramar. They had just got back from NYC and decided to do a day trip to Montecito. Kourtney thought it was going to be a casual day, as they always go to Rosewood, and she was totally thrown off.”

Kate Hudson also recently announced her engagement. Ahead of attending the Met Gala 2021, she posted to Instagram to announce that she and Danny Fujikawa will be tying the knot. Sharing a snap of her and her husband-to-be embracing next to the beach (and showing off a sparkly ring and a fresh mani), with the caption, “Let’s go!”

Britney Spears also announced her engagement in September 2021. Just days after it was announced that her father is stepping down as her conservator, which prevented her from marrying long-term boyfriend Sam or having more children, the singer took to Instagram to post a video showing her stunning engagement ring.

Sam also posted a separate photo to his account as his manager Brandon Cohen confirmed the news to People.

“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” he said.

Then, of course, former One Direction singer Liam Payne got engaged to his girlfriend of two years, Maya Henry. Payne popped the question with an AH-MAZING diamond ring that set him back a whopping £3 million… Yep, you read that right.

Texan-born model Maya flashed her new dazzler after the couple was spotted enjoying a romantic meal at London’s Novikov. According to sources, their engagement took place during lockdown. Although they had hit a rough patch the last couple of weeks, it seems like the couple are back on track, just two months after almost calling it quits for good. If they’re happy, we’re happy!

They’re not the only ones either. Little Mix kween, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, announced her engagement to Andre Gray. The footballer set up an incredibly romantic proposal sitch in their garden and the pair have recently welcomed twins! Nawww.

Then there’s YouTube star Jim Chapman who proposed to his girlfriend Sarah Tarleton during a romantic holiday in Mallorca. Jim, 32, and Sarah, 27, took to Instagram to post snaps of the happy news. The proposal comes 16 months after power YouTube couple, Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman, shocked the world when they announced their split in March last year after three and half years of marriage.

The childhood sweethearts took to their Instagram Stories to share their separate statements, expressing their ongoing love and respect for one another despite the separation.

“Just wanted to let you all know that a few weeks ago Jim and I made the painful decision to no longer be together,” Tanya wrote. “We have a huge amount of love and respect for each other and will continue to remain friends forever. Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this difficult time.”

Meanwhile Jim, who proposed to Tanya in 2012, wrote: “After twelve incredible years, Tan and I have decided to go our separate ways. We’re still absolutely the best of friends and have nothing but love and respect for each other. We will continue to support one another in all of our ventures and are both looking forward to what the future holds.”
