The great thing about Lindsay Lohan’s return to acting is that it also marks her return to the red carpet.
In a brand-new profile by Who What Wear UK, the Falling for Christmas star opened up about her love of fashion and her influence on today’s most popular trends. “I haven’t gone to Paris in so long. I haven’t gone to Fashion Week. I miss that,” Lohan told Who What Wear. “I do miss being involved in the fashion scene. It’s funny. I think about when I was creative director for Ungaro, and I got so much backlash for putting nipple tassels on the girls on the runway, and now, everyone does that, or they’re not wearing anything, and I’m like, [laughs] ‘That’s not fair!’”
In 2009, Paris fashion house Emanuel Ungaro brought in Lohan as an “artistic advisor” to work with head designer Estrella Archs. As Lohan said, their spring-summer 2010 collection included heart-shaped pasties… as well as bandage dresses and a whole lot of hot pink. WWD labeled the show “an embarrassment.” The Cut called the reviews “disastrous.” In a new profile, writer Evan Ross Katz described Lohan as “ahead of her time.”
No matter how you feel about the collection, there’s something cathartic about Lohan working with famed celebrity stylist Law Roach on her Falling for Christmas press tour and hitting the premiere red carpet in a full-on naked dress. “This is what #FallingForChristmas looks like ???? ❤️????????,” she captioned photos of herself in the sheer Valentino gown she wore in New York City. It truly is her time to shine!
“I don’t want to overexpose, and I also don’t want to distract from the work I have coming out,” Lindsay Lohan also told the magazine. I say bring it on.
