MOUNTAIN VIEW — LinkedIn has revealed plans to eliminate scores of Bay Area jobs in a fresh round of layoffs that intensify the current tough times for Silicon Valley tech and biotech companies.
The employment-focused social network has decided to cut 91 jobs in three Bay Area cities, according to an official filing that LinkedIn sent to California’s labor agency.
Starting in July 2022, tech and biotech companies have disclosed plans to eliminate at least 20,100 jobs in the Bay Area, according to this news organization’s review of WARN notices sent to the state Employment Development Department. Some of the cutbacks have occurred, and some are scheduled to take place.
LinkedIn is cutting staffing levels in Mountain View, Sunnyvale and San Francisco, the company told the state EDD in a new WARN notice that was dated Feb. 14.
