Lisa Marie Presley died from a small bowel obstruction, an LA County Coroner’s report has reportedly revealed.
The singer and daughter of Elvis Presley died in January, aged 54, after going into cardiac arrest and being rushed into hospital. She was remembered as Memphis’s “precious jewel” during a public memorial service which was held at her father’s Graceland mansion shortly after death.
Now an L.A. County Coroner report has revealed the star’s cause of death. The full report has not yet been made available.
However, preliminary reports state that the star died from sequelae of small bowel obstruction, according to TMZ. A sequelae is a pathological condition resulting from a prior disease or injury.
Elvis and Priscilla’s only daughter died after she was rushed to hospital following paramedics performing CPR on her after being called to her home. It was reported at the time she had suffered a possible cardiac arrest.
A statement shared with the PA news agency by Presley’s family announcing her death said: “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie.
“They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
