Currensy has just released the latest album in his fan favorite Pilot Talk series, and it features a guest appearance from none other than Jay Electronica.
The first Pilot Talk album since 2015’s third entry, Pilot Talk 4 sees the always prolific Currensy back just months after releasing Still Stoned on Ocean. The only guest feature on the project comes courtesy of Jay Electronica, who appears on immediate standout “AD6.”
Ahead of the release of the project, Currensy tweeted his excitement about Jay Electronica’s verse. “Jay Electronica lost his mind… glad we’re buddies man,” he wrote. “Dude is out of control with rap… Thanks for the verse man… you are a source of motivation for me man.” He also indicated that it almost didn’t make the project. In fact, on some streaming services in certain regions, his verse is absent from the track.
“The Jay Elec verse got mixed and added to the album a few hours ago… hopefully it makes the album at drop time…. if not it’ll show up within a few days u know how day shit go,” he wrote on Thursday. It also appears as if the mix on the track is incorrect, judging from further comments from Currensy. “We gonna swap that A6 out Monday for y’all…. that one needs the correct mix,” he wrote. “We were tryna make sure the record made the album at drop time… we gonna take care of that by Monday morning.”
