At the tail end of last month, RV released his third full-length solo project, Inconspicuous—a 10-track collection that arrived without a shred of fat on it. Now he’s back with a deluxe version that features two extra tracks: “DIY Freestyle” and “Guilty”. “DIY Freestyle” was teased with a studio-set visual last month, but little more was heard until it found its way onto this new deluxe version of Inconspicuous.
Similarly, “Guilty”, which was produced by Chucks and Emz Beats, was released the day before the project, but was then curiously left off the finished piece. That came as a bit of a surprise to a lot of us for a few reasons, not least because it featured the same artwork, was released just hours before as a single and featured RV’s old sparring partner, Headie One. Surely a shoo-in?
Whatever the behind-the-scenes reasons, it doesn’t really matter, but this new version really does feel like the definitive one. With any luck, we’ll see the finished video for the “DIY Freestyle” in the near future. “My plans for 2023 is just to put out more music, try out different genres, some unexpected collabs, and another project,” RV told Complex.
In the meantime, take a listen to the new deluxe version of Inconspicuous below.
