I’m getting married in two years, and while there’s plenty of time to decide on the frock, and perhaps even design my own, halterneck wedding dresses are something I can’t stop thinking about.
Understated and elegant in a similar way to square neck wedding dresses, there’s something about a halter silhouette that piques my interest – and I’m not the only one. Sofia Richie-Grainge donned a custom-made Chanel halter neck wedding dress at her star-studded ceremony in the South of France back in April, and her entire look has been on mind ever since.
Adorned with iridescent beads, Sofia’s gown was undoubtedly breathtaking yet it managed to maintain a regal air of simplicity about it (likely due to the many brilliant ateliers behind it). Every girl has dreams of a princess dress when they’re younger, but that doesn’t have mean layers upon layers of tulle, corsets and tiaras these days. Instead you can achieve the same, fairytale results in something far more pared back.

A design I’ve had my eye on for quite some time now, and one that has been pinned to my Pinterest moodboard several times, is Rime Arodaky’s Queen embroidered tulle-trimmed crepe de chine halterneck gown. Fit with a flowing tulle cape embroidered with blooms, this floor-length dress achieves exactly the same results as Mrs Richie-Grainge’s, and, better yet, it’s currently on sale.
Elsewhere, the high-street’s bridal collections never miss. There’s embellished halterneck wedding dresses at Starlet Bridal via ASOS, a short wedding dress with pearl trims and a halterneck at Mango, and a floral halter neck wedding dress in ivory at Coast.

Halternecks not your style? Consider a lace wedding dress or evening wedding dress/second wedding dress, or perhaps one of these affordable wedding dresses instead. There are also multiway bridesmaid dresses and wedding guest dresses, including pink wedding guest dresses, green wedding guest dresses and black wedding guest dresses, to shop if you’re not the bride this time.
