Pets quickly become part of the family — even an office family.
It’s been especially true during the pandemic where 1 in 5 households adopted a pet, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
But with pet ownership comes complications and sometimes heartbreak.
Sadly, that’s true for the PR pros at Regan Communications Group of Boston who just lost their mascot Levi Jean Regan. Kidney failure felled the pup.
“Levi was incredibly well known at political events, fundraisers for Governor Baker, charity affairs and most importantly was a constant faithful companion to George and Elizabeth Regan,” the agency wrote.
Levi was a service and comfort dog, and frequently made the rounds at many hospitals, including Franciscan Children’s Hospital.
Levi was a name-dropper, rubbing up to the likes of Robert Kraft, Bill Bratton and Willie Gross. Not bad for just four-and-some years old. But dog years count for more.
Levi will be buried at Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee where she spent many happy days.
