Russia said it shot down five drones over Moscow, blaming Kyiv for the second such apparent attack on the capital in two months.

The defence ministry called it a “terrorist attack”. No damage or casualties were reported.

Flights to and from Vnukovo airport, one of Moscow’s three principal airports, were suspended at 5am local time for “technical reasons, beyond the control of the airport”, the Federal Air Transport Agency said. Flights resumed three hours later.

“The Kyiv regime’s attempt to attack an area where civilian infrastructure is located, including the airport, which incidentally also receives foreign flights, is yet another act of terrorism,” said foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

Russia regularly attacks Kyiv with drones, killing and injuring civilians and destroying infrastructure and residential buildings.
