Diogo Jota struck twice to seal the win in front of a buoyant Anfield crowd as they welcomed Mohamed Salah back from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The game was full of talking points as Jota’s importance was underlined by his double.
It comes as the club has missed out on millions following Xherdan Shaqiri’s transfer to Chicago Fire.

It means the Colombian will have to wait for his first Liverpool goal, but that didn’t stop ex-player Owen heaping praise on the winger’s performance.
And Owen believes Diaz already ‘suits the red shirt’ of Liverpool after flashes of brilliance during his first Premier LEague start.
