While Klopp would be reluctant to lose Henderson given his leadership skills in the dressing room and importance on the pitch, he would also not stand in his way to deny him the chance to earn one last lucrative contract.
The Liverpool skipper penned his most recent contract extension in 2021, which keeps him at the club until June 2025. It remains to be seen whether the club would demand a fee for his signature, given the apparent riches Saudi clubs have been given by their backers, the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
In any case, Klopp has already identified his long-term replacement for Henderson should he decide to depart. The club have been in talks with Southampton over a possible move for Romeo Lavia, the 19-year-old who is valued at £50m, although there is yet to be an official bid.
