Lizzo just said the one thing we should all be able to tell ourselves.
The singer’s recent post on Instagram and TikTok is a love letter to herself and her body, as she tells the camera in a video: “I just finished showering and doing my little routine, and you know what I realised? I am f**king gorgeous. I am the beauty standard. Catch up b*tch!”
In typical Lizzo fashion, her phone fell down just as she was about to throw in a hot girl pose to end the video – but no doubt in the interest of keeping it real, she posted it anyway.
In her Instagram caption, she added: “I’m sorry that my perfect face & rockin’ body offends you… I can’t help that I’m God’s favourite.”
But over on TikTok, she had more to say. “I seen way too many TikTok lives discussing my body lately…. Y’all ok?” she asked fans.

Self-love queen Lizzo has never been shy about opening up conversations about body positivity and confidence, and has frequently called out toxic body standards online.
Back in 2021, she got candid about the body positivity movement and its sometimes double-standards.
“Now the body positivity has been co-opted by all bodies, and people are finally celebrating medium and small girls and people who occasionally get rolls; fat people are still getting the short end of this movement,” she said on TikTok.
“We’re still getting sh*t on — we’re still getting talked about, memed, shamed — and no one cares anymore because it’s like, ‘Body positivity is for everybody.’”
She added: “Yes, please be positive about your body, please use our movement to empower yourself. That’s the point. But the people who created this movement: Big women, big Brown and Black women, queer women are not benefiting from the mainstream success of it. Our bodies are none of your f**king business or health is none of your f**king business. All we ask is that you keep that same energy with these medium girls that you praise, keep the same fucking energy.”
Since then, she’s gone on to found her own lingerie and shapewear brand, Yitty, which she proudly declares is for “Every. Damn. Body.”
