Lizzo is one of the most famous names in the music industry today and can be seen performing on some of the world’s biggest stages.

However, just like every prominent musician, the 34-year-old had to start somewhere and work her way up to the superstar she is today – including her performing for the cast of Made in Chelsea back in 2014.

Fans of the About Damn Time hitmaker have been shocked to see a resurfaced viral TikTok clip of Lizzo, real name Melissa Jefferson, taking to the stage in an episode of the E4 reality show’s Big Apple special years earlier.

Always having been a fashionista, she wore a vibrant blonde wig, bright orange lipstick and an 80s-inspired outfit as she treated the MIC gang and fellow NYC nightclub-goers to her own rendition of Blondie’s hit tune Rapture.

While Lizzo had already released her debut album the year before, the likes of Binky Felstead, Lucy Watson and Jamie Laing were seen awkwardly bopping along to Lizzo as she shook her head from side to side while on stage. One TikTok user was in complete disbelief, as they tweeted: “What?? Did i blink and miss this?? Actual lizzo!! This is incredible x.” Another wrote: “I saw this just yesterday on TV. Couldn’t believe it.”

While Lizzo was already a force to be reckoned with in the music industry at the time, she is now one of the biggest names globally thanks to her head-bopping music, electric stage presence, stylish ensembles and body positivity confidence. Nothing can bring her down, and in a recent interview, she had her say on the criticism of her body and the revealing outfits she wears onstage.

“Black women are hypersexualised all the time and masculinised simultaneously. Because of the structure of racism, if you’re thinner and lighter, or your features are narrow, you’re closer to being a woman,” she told Vanity Fair. “I wanted to be like a dancer, and also it was kind of political and feminist in my eyes to have me, a full-figured dancer, wearing leotards, showing and celebrating curves and being Olympian in strength, endurance, and flexibility.” Lizzo, we love you!
