Lizzo’s Nail Artist Just Revealed Exactly How She Did THAT Coachella Manicure

As the weather breaks, spring trends have been pouring in, and we’ve been a witness to the incoming rush of beauty looks — particularly for festival season. California’s very own Coachella 2022 has been the host of striking takes on fashion and innovative beauty looks from fans and our favorite celebs (but what’s new?). Much like the onlookers basking in the sun for all of the festivities, it’s been our duty to keep up with them all — while also fangirling unashamedly over the performances, of course.

For week one, Saweetie kept it icy and managed to match her pastel rainbow hair to her nails and outfit. Megan Thee Stallion’s hair bounced along with her as the Houston Hottie’s huge curls served as a highlight of the night. Fast-forward to week two on April 22, when Harry Styles graced the crowd with his presence to headline his second week of Coachella. He surprised fans and brought out Lizzo to sing a duet if Gloria Gaynor’s classic hit “I Will Survive.” To match her huge Gucci fur coat perfectly, Lizzo flaunted hot-pink nails, designed by her go-to nail artist, Eri Ishizu. As a special treat, Ishizu gave the ultimate breakdown of the rapper’s manicure on April 25 via Instagram.

Ishizu demonstrated how the nails were cleverly crafted with the help of CND nail polish. She first used CND PLEXIGEL Bonder and sculpted the nails into shape with the brand’s Future Forms product. Two coats of CND PLEXIGEL Builder and Shellac Polish in the shades Saftey Pin (a metallic pastel pink) and Magenta Mischief (a muted orchid) blended together resulted in the cool gradient effect. 

By applying CND No Wipe+ Top Coat and CND Over the Top Effects in Pearl Obsession, the chrome look was achieved. Lastly, Ishizu sealed the topcoat again before adding the custom letter and embellishments. Of course, the embellished crystals and custom lettering with which Ishizu topped off the look spelled “Taurus” and “Yitty,” proper branding for Lizzo.
