Jake Paul, speaking on behalf of his brother Logan, confirmed legal action has been taken against Floyd Mayweather for allegedly not paying him for their fight last summer.

The YouTube star lasted the eight-round distance with Mayweather at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami back in June with no winner was declared due to it being an exhibition bout.

Over one million people bought the pay-per-view to watch the elder Paul brother take on 50-0 boxing legend Mayweather, and both men were said to be making millions of pounds for the fight.

But Paul has maintained over the past number of months that he didn’t receive the entirety of his payment from Mayweather Promotions, who were running the event.

And now his brother Jake has claimed that he is pursuing legal action against the fighter.

“He really hasn’t [paid Logan],” Jake said at a London press conference yesterday. “There’s a lawsuit that was opened up last week or two weeks ago.

“They’re pressuring him both legally and behind-the-scenes, but it’s embarrassing for Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather to not have enough money to pay my brother.”

It is unknown how far legal proceedings have got to this point, with no details available publicly.

Mayweather has yet to respond to the allegation, Mirror Fighting has approached his representatives for comment.

But the younger Paul brother’s comments echo the sentiments of comedian Andrew Schulz, who said on his podcast The Flagrant 2 that the plan was for pal Logan to sue Mayweather for the undisclosed sum of money.

“I was talking to Logan about it,” Schulz said during an episode of his show on January 4. “I was like ‘are you serious’ [about not being paid]?

“He goes ‘yeah yeah, I guess we’re going to have to sue him’, and it sucks because once you go into the lawsuits the lawyers make all the money.

“You can stretch that s*** out forever and he owes him probably between five and 10 million dollars.”

Paul has claimed that he was offered a rematch with Mayweather to take place this month in February, but turned it down due to the payment issue.

He has also said that he believes he would have landed higher on highest-paid YouTubers list for 2021 had Mayweather paid him in full for the event.

The YouTube star ended up at No.9 on the Forbes Magazine rankings, and says that between not being paid in full and falling victim to a Pokemon card scam, his position was “real bad”.

“Jake made $45million, YouTube’s No.2 most-paid influencer,” Paul said on his podcast Impaulsive. “Wow, it’s crazy man, a lot of money.

“It’s more than double what I made, according to that list – I might as well have not even been on the list, it’s bad, real bad.

“I got ripped off with the f***ing Pokemon cards too, and if Floyd paid me in full, maybe I’d be a little higher on that list.

“But yeah, the Pokemon cards too, $3.5million on GI Joe cards, I cannot believe it, that was a sad day, a very sad day.”
