Bronny James is staying in California for college. The five-star guard committed to USC last weekend.
It goes without saying that as good as Bronny is, he’s not the overall player his dad was at his age. But it’s also worth noting that Bronny is more advanced in one area of his game than LeBron was as a teenager.
The younger James is known as a knockdown shooter, and that trait should carry over well at the next level, and potentially the NBA. ESPN’s Jeff Borzello spoke to a number of scouts and coaches about James’ development as a prospect and what to expect from him with the Trojans.
One scout in particular said that if you leave Bronny unattended on a catch-and-shoot, “he’ll destroy you.”

By committing to USC, Bronny made some important family history. He will be a first generation college student starting in the fall.
“I’m super proud of him,” LeBron said of his oldest son following his commitment. “Our family is proud of him. For me personally, it’s even more special to me because it’s the first time someone out of my family will go to college.”
The No. 21 overall player in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, Bronny Jones five-star point guard Isaiah Collier, the No. 1 overall recruit, and four-star center Arrinten Page, ranked 44th in the country, in USC’s 2023 recruiting haul.
