Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla quickly ingratiated himself with the entire city by taking over mere weeks before the start of the season and leading them to a superb season. But he may have just become a Boston legend with his movie preferences.
In a recent interview, Mazzulla revealed that he watches the 2010 film “The Town” four times per week. With a 2.5-hour runtime, that’s a solid 10 hours per week dedicated to watching the film.
Granted, The Town is a pretty popular one in Boston. Set in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood, the crime drama film is one of the most beloved films in the city for its critical reception while representing them.
Some Celtics fans feel that Mazzulla’s love of the movie makes him a true Bostonian while others think (perhaps jokingly) he should be using his time differently:
The movie has a runtime of two hours and four minutes ????

“This is NOT what they meant Joe when they said you need to watch more FILM…” one user wrote.
“I once watched Space Jam every night for an entire semester of school,” another said.
“He needs to spend that time teaching Tatum to dribble,” wrote a third.
It’s possible that Joe Mazzulla was just joking though. Until he shows in-home footage of himself sitting down and watching The Town once a night for a whole week, that’s just too crazy to take all that seriously.
