Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan had a well-publicized falling out, but once upon a time, the two were very close.
In fact, when both Hall of Famers were signed by Nike, Jordan gave Barkley some pretty sage advice that wound up making the Round Mound of Rebound a lot of money.
“Michael gave me some great advice one time. He said, ‘Hey man, why you need all that money?’ I was like ‘Dude what are you talking about?’ He says, ‘I was looking at your contract. You’re making about three million dollars. Tell Nike you want a million and you want the rest in stock options,'” Barkley said on “The Steam Room Podcast.”
Barkley wound up taking the advice. Needless to say, it paid off big-time.
“I actually made probably 10 times the amount of money, and I’m still with Nike to this day,” he said.

According to Barkley, he and Jordan were tight until Sir Charles made some comments about the Charlotte Hornets while MJ was team owner.
“And what I said, I think that he don’t have enough people around him that are gonna tell him, ‘No,'” Barkley said on 60 Minutes earlier this year. “And he got really offended, and we haven’t spoken.”
