The athletic blood runs deep in the Rodman family.
On Saturday, Trinity Rodman — the daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman — scored the opening goal for the NWSL Washington Spirit in their matchup against the San Diego Wave.
Rodman slotted one into the bottom corner past Wave goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan in the 55th minute.

With her assist today, Rodman (13 goals, 10 assists) becomes the first player in NWSL history to notch double-digit goals and assists in the same regular season before turning 21 years old.
The Spirit won today’s game with a 3-1 final score. San Diego superstar Alex Morgan scored the lone goal for the Wave.
Rodman, 20, won the NWSL Rookie of the Year award in 2021. In 2022, she signed a four-year, $1.1 million contract extension with the Spirit to make her the highest paid player in the league.
