Earlier this week, multiple outlets reported that the Memphis Grizzlies have no intention of re-signing upcoming free agent Dillon Brooks.
Shams Charania of The Athletic — one of the first to report the news — went as far as to say that the Grizzlies won’t bring back Brooks “under any circumstances.”
Brooks’ agent, Mike George, is not happy with the phrasing of Charania’s reporting.
“[Shams Charania] the leader of spreading false news and attacking players. Why any player in the league talks to this guy blows my mind #weirdo,” George wrote in a tweet on Wednesday.

Brooks became the NBA’s biggest villain in the eyes of the media during this year’s postseason. After calling LeBron James “old” and failing to back up his trash talk on the court, the Grizzlies starter became the target of some pretty heavy criticism.
Brooks, a second-round pick for the Grizzlies in 2017, is now on the hunt for a new team after six seasons in Memphis.
