For the second game in a row, the Western Conference Semi-Finals series between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors has yielded a Flagrant 2 resulting in ejection.
Early in the first quarter of Tuesday night’s Game 2 matchup, Dillon Brooks was ejected for a hard foul on Warriors guard Gary Payton II.
As Payton went up for a fast-break layup, Brooks’ arm swiped across his head and caused him to come crashing to the floor.
Landing awkwardly on his left arm, Payton was in some clear pain as officials reviewed the foul.
Take a look at the play here:
Payton immediately went back into the Warriors’ locker room after shooting his two free throws. He’s yet to return to the court as he undergoes X-Ray testing. His status for the rest of the game is still yet to be determined.
Just moments after this foul, Draymond Green — the subject of Game 1’s ejection controversy — was elbowed in the face by Memphis big man Xavier Tillman. The Warriors forward has also yet to return from the locker room after coming off the court with a bloody nose.
